The Pirate’s Veil (Large Suncatcher)

A piece shaped by time, mystery, and the sea.

This driftwood was found already bearing two worn holes from a life long before it reached the shore. Whether it was once part of a ship or something else entirely, it carries a quiet sense of history that could never be recreated.

Suspended from it is a cascade of perfectly worn sea glass often known as pirate glass, appearing black at first glance but revealing its true nature in the light. Layers of rich olive, forest green, amber, and chocolate tones emerge when the sun passes through, along with a single rare violet blue bauble hidden within the strands. Some treasures don’t reveal themselves until the light finds them.

Each strand shifts throughout the day, coming alive in fleeting moments of light. What seems dark and hidden slowly unveils a spectrum beneath the surface.

A reminder that not everything is as it first appears, some treasures reveal themselves only when the light finds them.

The piece measures 13 inches wide (driftwood) and 30 inches long, with an additional 16 inches of suspended cord.

Whether displayed against a window, where the magic of the sunlight shines through, or hung as a statement piece on a wall, this suncatcher brings coastal charm and tranquility to any space.

S-hooks or other materials can be used to lengthen its reach, depending on where you'd like to suspend it.
