From England, By Sea & Light
I didn’t just find these pieces. I felt like I was gathering something that had already lived a life long before me.
This piece came together slowly, built from sea glass, sea pottery, and a few tiny shells, all shaped and softened by years, maybe decades, of movement through saltwater and sand. The palette drew me in first. Soft teals, seafoam greens, and milky whites that seem to hold light in the gentlest way.
But what truly anchored it was the pottery.
That central shard, still carrying the word England, stopped me. It once belonged somewhere, on a table, in someone’s hands, and somehow over time it made its way across the ocean, broken, worn, and transformed. I love imagining that journey, how something so ordinary became something so rare and meaningful.
As I built around it, I kept everything airy and open, letting each piece breathe. The textures, the patterns, the quiet contrast of dark ink against pale ceramic, it all feels like fragments of memory pieced back together in a new way.
This one feels especially ethereal to me. Like light passing through water. Like something carried, not lost.

♡ Great gift idea! Perfect for the cottage or sea-themed wedding.
It's wintertime here in Prince Edward Island so my newly made sea treasure frames are filled with a combination of new and old finds. My beach-combing collection goes back more than 20 years and even longer for my Mom. I like to rummage through her collection and oftentimes I find shards from the same vessel found years apart.
This frame is filled with real hand-collected sea treasures, not a print.
These colours are considered a rare found objects and each frame has the equivalent of months of collecting along the ocean coast.
Great gift idea! Perfect for the cottage or sea-themed wedding.
Please note* some of the shards have been smoothed mainly to remove rust/dirt and the odd sharp edge. This allows the colours and patterns to pop!
Sea Glass Origins: Genuine sea glass and sea pottery originate from fragments of broken bottles, tableware, or even shipwrecks, which are gradually tumbled by the ocean over many years. This natural process can take between 50 to 100 years, during which the fragments are smoothed into their characteristic rounded shapes and the glass acquires a distinctive frosted appearance, resulting from the gradual erosion of its original sheen.
The sea treasures are real therefore they may have minor imperfections and a slightly irregular shape.
