Whispering Waters

Inspired by the soft, tranquil shades of aqua found along the shoreline, I created Whispering Waters to capture the quiet beauty of the sea's gentler side. Every piece of genuine sea glass and beach-found treasure was discovered by hand and shaped naturally by the waves over many decades. I carefully brought together these delicate ocean hues, creating a collection that feels calm, light, and full of wonder.

Nestled among the ocean-worn treasures are a few special beach-found hearts, each carrying its own little story from the shore. One is a tiny multi-coloured blue ombre heart, shifting from a deep ocean blue into a bright, sparkling aqua, like the changing colours of the sea beneath the sun. Another is a delicate blue heart-shaped wire piece, discovered already formed in this beautiful shape and washed ashore by the tides, a rare little reminder of the unexpected treasures the ocean leaves behind.

To me, each weathered fragment carries the whispers of the tides that once tumbled it smooth, preserving a little piece of the coastline's story. Together, they evoke peaceful walks along the shore, where the sea quietly shares its hidden treasures with those willing to look.

Dimensions: 10" x 10" Inch square white frame with a glass cover- inner sea glass section is 5"x5". Can be displayed on a table or hung on a wall.

It's summertime here in Prince Edward Island so my newly made sea treasure frames are filled with a combination of new and old finds. My beach-combing collection goes back more than 20 years and even longer for my Mom. I like to rummage through her collection and oftentimes I find shards from the same vessel found years apart.

This frame is filled with real hand-collected sea treasures, not a print.

These colours are considered a rare found objects and each frame has the equivalent of months of collecting along the ocean coast.

Please note* some of the shards have been smoothed mainly to remove rust/dirt and the odd sharp edge. This allows the colours and patterns to pop!

Sea Glass Origins: Genuine sea glass and sea pottery originate from fragments of broken bottles, tableware, or even shipwrecks, which are gradually tumbled by the ocean over many years. This natural process can take between 50 to 100 years, during which the fragments are smoothed into their characteristic rounded shapes and the glass acquires a distinctive frosted appearance, resulting from the gradual erosion of its original sheen.

The sea treasures are real therefore they may have minor imperfections and a slightly irregular shape.
