Mochaware Memories - Sea Treasure Frame
Mochaware Memories - Sea Treasure Frame
"Mochaware Memories” is a striking composition of striped sea pottery, where each shard tells a story of the sea's timeless ebb and flow. Dominated by the classic blue and white stripes, with touches of green and black, the piece reflects both the natural beauty of the ocean and the artistry of the vessels that once held these stripes. Each shard, collected over years of beachcombing, carries its own unique history, with some identifiable to their original vintage sources, including the rare and highly sought antique Mochaware. The stripes dance in all directions, creating a dynamic yet harmonious pattern, framed in a white shadowbox to showcase its coastal origins. This piece is a true statement of craftsmanship, history, and the sea's lasting influence on art.

It's Fall in Prince Edward Island so my newly made sea treasure frames are filled with a combination of new and old finds. My beach-combing collection goes back more than 20 years and even longer for my Mom. I like to rummage through her collection and oftentimes I find shards from the same vessel found years apart.
This frame is filled with real hand-collected sea treasures, not a print.
These colours are considered a rare found objects and each frame has the equivalent of months of collecting along the ocean coast.
Great gift idea! Perfect for the cottage or sea-themed wedding.
Please note* some of the shards have been smoothed mainly to remove rust/dirt and the odd sharp edge. This allows the colours and patterns to pop!
Sea Glass Origins: Genuine sea glass and sea pottery originate from fragments of broken bottles, tableware, or even shipwrecks, which are gradually tumbled by the ocean over many years. This natural process can take between 50 to 100 years, during which the fragments are smoothed into their characteristic rounded shapes and the glass acquires a distinctive frosted appearance, resulting from the gradual erosion of its original sheen.
The sea treasures are real therefore they may have minor imperfections and a slightly irregular shape.
